Sitting in the midday sun, reading Louise Bourgeois- La famille by Thomas Kellein, 2006. The introduction is enlightening and creates a depth to my own recent work.
Kellein describes recent drawings of boxes, lots of boxes and the Use of black and red as a common thread in Bourgeois’ work.
Her intrinsic use of memory and family, an emotive past love and loss.
It has made me question whether the use of boxes, houses, black and red is common symbolism for traumatic memory, loss, emotional release? A way of expressing or explaining a feeling?
